Stolen cow has been handed over to Rwanda

KAYANZA December 19th (ABP) – The communal administration of Kabarore in Kayanza province (north) handed over a stolen cow to Rwanda on Thursday, December 15, 2022. The handover ceremonies of that cow took place at the border post of Kanyaru Haut in Busiga commune of Ngozi province in the presence of the administrative and police authorities of Rwanda, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his speech for the occasion, the adviser to the communal administrator of Kabarore, Mr. Samson Niyonsenga, indicated that the inhabitants residing on the Burundian-Rwandan border in the commune of Kabarore maintain good relations. Indeed, objects stolen in one of these two countries are often seized and returned to their owners. He thus asked to continue on the same momentum and to strengthen awareness so that migratory movements are carried out in accordance with the law.

On the Rwandan side, the migration officer at the Kanyaru Haut border post, Mr. Robert Nyarwaya, promised that his country will do its best to eradicate thefts on the common border between the two countries. As for Mr. Bernard Ukize who had just found his cow, it was a feeling of satisfaction was observed on his face.
