BUJUMBURA November 22 (ABP) – The First Lady of the country, Mrs. Angeline Ndayishimiye received in audience on Tuesday, November 22 in Bujumbura, the economic capital of Burundi, Mr. Mathieu Ciowela, the resident representative of the United Nations program (UNDP) in Burundi.

In an interview granted to the media after that audience, Mr. Ciowela said that it was first a courtesy visit during which he was informed of what the Office of the First Lady for the Development of Burundi (OPDD-Burundi) is in the process of cutting down.

He further indicated that through the explanations given, he quickly retained a certain convergence between the activities carried out by the OPDD-Burundi and those carried out by the UNDP in certain areas. “We believe that this work aligned with the objectives of sustainable development constitutes an important contribution to the efforts made by the government for the development of Burundi,” he said.

The two authorities have finally agreed that they will continue the exchanges so that at the level of the sectors of convergence, they can work to establish collaboration with that office, he continued.
