BUJUMBURA November 7th (ABP) – The Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye received in audience the Director of Operations of the World Bank for Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Sao Tome and Principe Mr. Albert G. Zeufack Thursday, November 3, 2022.
At the end of the hearing Mr. Albert G. Zeufack indicated that the interview with the Head of State focused on the last Annual Meetings of the World Bank which took place in the United States of America in Washington.
During that meeting, they followed up on the files on which they had agreed during his last visit to Burundi, which dates back two months. Their discussions also focused on reforms to be implemented in the digital field, which is a very important agenda for both Burundi and the World Bank, and reforms to be made in the private sector, a very dynamic sector in Burundi, which creates jobs for young people.
In this regard, Albert G. Zeufack congratulated President Evariste Ndayishimiye in particular and Burundi in general for the holding of the Forum for the private sector on Wednesday November 2, 2022 which, from now on, will be an annual Forum as announced by the President. Finally, they discussed how to implement the recommendations resulting from this forum in a concerted manner between the Burundian Government, the private sector and international institutions.
