The abundance of sugar is a reality in Bujumbura City

BUJUMBURA October 14th (ABP) – Sugar can now be found in several shops in the Buyenzi district, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Sugar wholesaler Jean Claude Ntakirutimana said he has plenty of sugar and customers can be served enough. He also explained that there is more waiting in front of his deposit and in addition consumers can be served according to the quantity they need, he said.

On the other hand, Mr. Ntakirutimana indicated that the latter notes several queues of people who come from other districts, in particular Kanyosha and Buterere, to come and maximize the chances of being served. Ntakirutimana further explained that he was able to take out 20 or 30 kilos to then serve the consumers despite there being a large number of customers, some were lucky to be served and the others returned home without be supplied.

A shopkeeper named Nkunzimana Nephtalie testified that a 50 kilo bag of sugar currently costs 125,000 BIF while recently a 50 kilo bag cost 200,000 BIF and also specified that a kilo of sugar costs 2,500 BIF while a kilo cost 5,000 BIF, there is a few days ago.
