BUJUMBURA October 14th (ABP) – The Minister of Interior, Community Development and Public Security Mr. Martin Niteretse and the Minister of Infrastructure, Equipment and Social Housing Mr. Dieudonné Dukundane paid a joint visit, in the afternoon of Monday October 10, 2022, on the sites of the culverts which join two districts Muyaga and Nyabagere of the urban commune of Ntahangwa.
The minister having community development in his attributions, let it be known that they came to see the lamentations of the people, saying that it is difficult for them to join the two districts. He added that residents of Muyaga and Nyabagere neighborhoods are advocating for the construction of a culvert and a bridge that connects the two neighborhoods.
During that visit, the two ministers found that there is a road that was planned on the north side, but which lacks a bridge that can connect the two districts. Minister Niteretse also indicated that they have agreed with the technical teams under the Ministry of Infrastructure, to urgently build this bridge, also to build the culvert that connects these two neighborhoods and also to identify other culverts and bridges that pose a threat to the population.
However, he promised to carry out, if necessary, emergency works to be able to find solutions gradually to the problems raised by the population.
Minister Niteretse also called on all charitable souls to give their contribution, but specified that this work must be carried out in stages and that the site will begin as soon as possible.
