Closing ceremonies of the 6th Pan-African Conference of University Bible Groups of French-speaking Africa

BUJUMBURA August 16th (ABP) – The Mayor of Bujumbura City, Mr. Jimmy Hatungimana, proceeded, on Saturday August 13, 2022, to the closing of the 6th Pan-African Conference of University Bible Groups of Francophone Africa (GBUAF), organized in Bujumbura, since August 6, 2022, under the theme “Eternal Christ in present times”.

In his closing speech, Mr. Hatungimana, indicated that Burundi commends the effective participation in that Pan-African conference which was held in Burundi.

Burundi was honored to have welcomed so many eminent personalities from all walks of life in the Pan-African space and elsewhere through that Pan-African conference, he reassured.

On behalf of the government, the Mayor of Bujumbura City, Mr. Jimmy presented a gift of remembrance to the GBUAF Regional Secretary, Dr. Klaingar Ngarial for his spirit of leadership in serving Africa through the GBUs.

“You have made us discover the importance of university Bible groups in the promotion and sustainable development of our respective African countries,” Mr. Hatungimana said. He further commended the fact that the participants are seeking how young African Christian academic intellectuals can take the lead in the search for lasting solutions to the various challenges facing the African continent.

The ceremonies ended with the delivery of gifts to some GBUAF participants who contributed to the success of that conference.

Note that at this conference there were about 300 participants from 19 African countries and the next conference will take place in 2025 in Côte d’Ivoire.
