BUJUMBURA August 5th (ABP) – The Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD party, Réverien Ndikuriyo hosted a conference on Tuesday August 2, 2022, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 7th anniversary of the assassination of Adolphe Nshimirimana, on the theme “The pride of Burundi: a respected Burundi”. He recalled that the path of the CNDD-FDD, first as an armed movement and then as a political party is intimately linked to Adolphe Nshimirimana. He let it be known that the latter was a good commander who cared about his fellow fighters. For Réverien Ndikuriyo, it was his bravery that gave others the strength to continue the fight.

He mentioned that the diligence and intelligence of the late Adolphe Nshimirimana enabled CNDD-FDD fighters to occupy their rightful places within the National Defense Forces.

Returning to the theme of the day, Mr. Ndikuriyo challenged the Burundians of that time to draw inspiration from the bravery of our ancestors and to imitate them, unfortunately noting that currently the patriotic spirit is no longer put forward in relation to in the past. For him, it is necessary to put forward the interest of the country and to love his neighbour. He ended his remarks by calling on Burundians to forever fight corruption, disinterestedness in the face of the misfortune of others and the country and the squandering of public wealth.

Before the conference, one of the companions of the late Adolphe Nshimirimana, Mr. Audace Sinzumusi testified that this late was a unifier and a good adviser. Mr. Sinzumusi said that since 2001, when Adolphe Nshimirimana headed the armed wing of the CNDD-FDD, alongside Pierre Nkurunziza at its head, this movement, which later became a political party after the Arusha Accords, has been restructured. He added that the late Nshimirimana was generous to the neediest, calling on CNDD-FDD party members to draw inspiration from his bravery.
