BUJUMBURA July 18th  (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Gélase Daniel Ndabirabe, accompanied by his wife, enhanced with his presence on Saturday July 16, 2022, the second day of the evangelization crusade, which took place from July 15 to 17, 2022 at the headquarters of the Church of the Rock located in the Buyenzi zone of the town hall of Bujumbura, chaired by Pastor Marcello Tunasi of the Democratic Republic of Congo and moderated by the Reverend Pastor of this church, Mrs. Denise Bucumi, under the theme “Prepare the way of the Lord”.

Speaking, the Speaker of the National Assembly immediately thanked the Reverend Pastor of the Church of the Rock, Denise Nkurunziza, commonly known as “Mom Buntu”, who helps the people of God enormously in prayer.

On behalf of the National Assembly, Mr. Ndabirabe then reported having positively appreciated the quality lessons given in the morning by Pastor Marcello to both religious and political leaders.

The Speaker of the National Assembly recalled that the Reverend Pastor Marcello called on religious leaders and political leaders at all levels for change. Wondering how to achieve that change, Mr. Ndabirabe pointed out that there are three levels that can be taken into consideration to move to change, namely the body which dominates the spirit or the soul, the spirit or the soul which dominates the body as well as the body which can be separated from the spirit or the soul.

According to the speaker of the lower house of parliament, some religious leaders have allowed themselves to be dominated by the body, which has caused conflicts within their churches and among their followers. To properly prepare the way of the Lord, Mr. Ndabirabe specified that one should not allow oneself to be dominated by the body, but rather by the soul in order to delight the Almighty.

After imploring the Good Lord to bless Burundi and its people, Reverend Pastor Marcello warmly thanked the President of the National Assembly for having learned by heart the teachings he gave to the leaders. He also appreciated the comments of the president of the elected people on these teachings.

In his preaching based on the book of Isaiah 40:4-5 and the gospel of Mark 10:46-52, Pastor Marcello clarified that when man sinned, it was the body that dominated the soul. soul but that deliverance is found in Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. “I have joy in holiness, I have sadness in sin”, he testified while calling on the people of God to flee from sin to stay in connection with God.

Reverend Pastor Denise Nkurunziza finally thanked all the participants in this crusade of evangelization which, on its second day, also saw the participation of executives at the presidency of the Republic, elected representatives of the people and representatives of the town hall of Bujumbura.
