The President of the Republic has received in audience a delegation of young African ambassadors for peace and security

BUJUMBURA April 27th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye received in audience a delegation of young ambassadors of peace and security of the African Union (AU), Tuesday April 26, 2022 at Ntare Rushatsi presidential palace.

That delegation is one of the young people who responded to the work of the continental dialogue on the youth agenda, peace and security of the African Union, in Bujumbura on Saturday April 23, 2022.

The President’s spokesperson, Mrs. Evelyne Butoyi, indicated that this meeting was an opportunity for those young ambassadors to exchange with young Burundians,

those who are ahead of the others in this area of ​​peace and security.

Ms. Butoyi added that those young people even suggested to the African Union to put President Ndayishimiye on the list of wise men when it comes to the youth, peace and security agenda. These young people from all walks of Africa said that they will take the example of Burundian youth, who are involved in all areas of development in order to contribute to the maintenance of peace and security through acts palpable.

That delegation appreciated the actions carried out in Burundi, in particular the meetings often organized by the President of the Republic with young people to show them the fundamental values ​​of the country. She appreciated that Burundi is the first country in Africa to have set up a Youth Bank, one of the reasons that prompted those young ambassadors to meet President Ndayishimiye. They expressed the wish to see other countries imitate this fine example of Burundi. In addition to that bank, President Ndayishimiye informed them that there is a vocational school in Karusi which helps young people to improve in different sectors.
