GITEGA March 28th (ABP) – The Director General of the Burundi News Agency (ABP), Mr. Nicolas Barajingwa, positively appreciated the services of the provincial correspondents and encouraged them to go forward.

He hinted at these remarks during a meeting he organized on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Rehoboth training and development center, in the urban center of Gitega, located in the political capital of Burundi (center from the country).

Mr. Barajingwa relied on the assessment of the activities of the said correspondents for the past six months as drawn up by the head of the network of correspondents, Mrs. Spéciose Ndayisenga.

On the assets side of the balance sheet, this one placed 1057 articles produced in the editorial staff of the ABP and 762 sound elements sent to the National Radio (RTNB).

However, it also noted shortcomings on their part, to which it provided solutions to remedy them. On the sidelines of all the above, the general manager of the ABP took the opportunity to announce the establishment of an ABP web TV in the near future. He asked the provincial correspondents to prepare accordingly to feed it.

He asked them to provide information that contributes to the emergence of Burundi. “We will need information that reflects the concerns of the population in general and that of the depths of the country, in particular,” said Mr. Barajingwa.

In terms of exchanges, the provincial correspondents asked for the improvement of working conditions. They mentioned in particular the insufficiency of communication costs, capacity building, the lack of means of transport and the insufficiency of the salary.

To all those questions, the director general of the ABP, supported by the director of information and editorial staff, has tried to provide satisfactory answers.
