Load Viva Basketball to League playoffs are underway

BUJUMBURA February 2nd (ABP) – The playoffs within the Association of Basketball Clubs of Bujumbura (ACBAB) in order to know the six teams that will participate in the League organized by the Basketball Federation of Burundi (FEBABU) with the financial support of the Viva department of the Brewery and Lemonade Processing of Burundi (BRARUDI), started the weekend in Bujumbura City, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Indeed, on the first day on Saturday, two matches were scheduled, namely the Hippos and Muzinga at 1 p.m. and New Star against Mutanga United at 3 p.m.

During the first match the two teams had an apparently equal level and it was towards the end of the match that the Muzinga club under the fatigue of its players released and the Hippos took off and won the match with a score of 83 points to 63.

The second game was between New Star and Mutanga United. With a clear domination of the New Star team over Mutanga, 38 points to 26 at halftime. When the match resumed, Mutanga United point guard Noé Toto Cuma took matters into his own hands with spectacular climbs and good defense, while organizing teammates, he came back up the score by scoring the 3 points repeatedly so much so that he scored 38 points alone but he did not win and Mutanga United lost to New Star with a score of 72 points to 64.

On Sunday January 30, at the same field of the sports department, two matches were played. At 10 a.m., Dynamo against Remesha and this new formation created a surprise for fans of the orange ball against an experienced Dynamo team. At halftime, a parity score of 28 points everywhere. With a close score at the start of the 3rd quarter, the newly born Remesha team dominated Dynamo during the fourth quarter and won with a score of 65 points to 52 from Dynamo.

The second match at 12:00 was between the Gymkhana and Urunani teams. Made up largely of young local players, the Gymhkana team put up a tough time against the Urunani team, made up of Burundian players and foreign recruits. 39 points to 38 points at halftime in favor of Urunani and back from rest, Gymhkana players held their own in the third quarter time, but due to lack of substitutes, the talented youngsters of Gymkhana ended up exhausted and Urunani took the opportunity to widen a passage and beat Gymkhana with a score of 90 points to 63.

Note that the same playoffs are underway within the country and will participate in the said League, 10 teams namely 6 from ACBAB and 4 from associations within the country.
