The First Lady of the Republic has assisted the Akamuri Center and the Our Lady of Tenderness Orphanage

BUJUMBURA January 19th (ABP) – The First Lady of the Republic, Angéline Ndayishimiye paid a visit on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, to the Akamuri Center and the Our Lady of Tenderness Orphanage as part of charity actions across the “Umugiraneza” foundation, of which she is chairperson, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

According to the coordinator of the ”Umugiraneza” foundation, Mr. Aimable Sindayikengera, the First Lady of the Republic granted food aid to the Akamuri center and the Our Lady of Tenderness Orphanage to wish them a Merry Christmas and New Year’s greetings. The aid granted, worth 12 million Burundian francs, consisted in particular of flour for porridge, rice, milk and clothes for children under the age of one year.

Mr. Sindayikengera also indicated that the First lady, in her program intends to extend her interventions in all the provinces of the country.

He said that the First Lady of the Republic has called on anyone of a charitable heart to intervene in one or the other case that would arise in his entourage.

Sister Adèle Niyonzima, who spoke on behalf of the children housed at Our Lady of Tenderness Orphanage, sincerely thanked the First Lady of the Republic of Burundi for her support.
