Two million tree seedlings planted out of the three million planned until next March

MURAMVYA January 18th (ABP) – More than fifteen thousand eucalyptus seedlings were planted on more than 7ha Saturday on Saga village in Bukeye commune in Muramvya province as part of the Ewe Burundi Urambaye national program. Those activities were attended by the sponsor of Bujumbura and Muramvya provinces Brigadier General, Gaspard Baratuza along with the Governor of Muramvya province, Diomède Nzambimana and various provincial officials and those of Bukeye commune.

In his welcoming speech and thanks, Governor Diomède Nzambimana, welcomed the fact that the Ewe Burundi Urambaye national program often joins the population of Muramvya province in planting trees for a covered country. Governor Nzambimana said the province has already planted two million tree seedlings out of the three million planned to be planted until the beginning of March.

The provincial sponsor of the Ewe Burundi Urambaye program, Brigadier General Gaspard Baratuza told the population that they had just accomplished a noble mission after planting more than fifteen thousand tree seedlings. Gaspard Baratuza nevertheless formulated a good number recommendations for the protection of transplanted trees.

Among his recommendations, he asked them to follow those eucalyptus plants closely, to think about weeding and to avoid bush fires without forgetting the strict respect of permanent stabling which has many advantages, according to the general of brigade Gaspard Baratuza, provincial sponsor of Burundi covered.
