Analysis and adoption of the amendments of the Senate relating to the bill on the status of PNB agents

BUJUMBURA January 18th (ABP) – The MPs met in plenary session on Monday January 17, 2021, at the Kigobe hemicycle, to analyze and adopt the Senate amendments relating to the bill on the status of National Police officers of Burundi (PNB), a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The chairman of the National Assembly commission in charge of good governance and privatization, Honorable Claude Nahayo, pointed out that the articles of the said bill which were the subject of substantive and formal amendments by the Senate are sections 3, 6, 15, 17, 28 and 47, as well as chapter-level final provisions.

As for the formal amendments, there are three articles, namely Articles 15, 17 in the second paragraph, first line and 28, 4th line.

The substantive amendments also concern three articles of the said bill. Those are article 3, 2nd paragraph, article 6 and article 47 where it is a question of replacing “ten” by “seven”.

The members of the lower house of parliament accepted the amendments of the Senate in relation to the bill on the status of PNB agents, except for the substantive amendment to article 6 of that law.

Note that on the sidelines of the plenary, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Gélase Daniel Ndabirabe, recalled that the coronavirus pandemic persists, while considering that it is necessary to be responsible in respecting the barrier measures against Covid-19. 19, including wearing a mask during plenary, not forgetting to get tested as often as possible, especially at the beginning of the week, in order to avoid the rapid spread of this pandemic.
