Delivery of sheet metal assistance to cover certain infrastructure damaged by torrential rain in Gahombo commune

KAYANZA January 13th (ABP) – The Burundian ombudsman, Mr. Édouard Nduwimana, on Tuesday January 11, 2022, handed over sheet metal assistance for the rehabilitation of the three classrooms of the Basic School and the Nzewe branch in the Catholic parish of Rukago in Gahombo commune in Kayanza province (northern Burundi).

Those classrooms and this Catholic branch were disheveled during a torrential rain mixed with strong winds, which fell on December 26, 2021 in various villages of the commune of Gahombo, it is recalled.

In his welcoming speech, the governor of Kayanza, Mr. Rémy Cishahayo praised the support of the Burundian ombudsman who, according to him, continues to come to the aid of the victims of climatic hazards.

He also congratulated the Burundian ombudsman for the way in which he contributes enormously in the health and education sectors, especially by providing equipment to health structures and materials to schools.

In turn, the Burundian ombudsman, Édouard Nduwimana called on the population to get down to work to protect the environment, to deal with the vagaries of the weather which are being noticed here and there recently. He also called her for social cohesion.

Given that the Burundian head of state has baptized the year 2022, “a year dedicated to agriculture”, the Burundian ombudsman invited the population of Gahombo to promote block agriculture and work in cooperatives to increase production and fight famine.

At the same time, he asked the administrators and elected representatives of the people with means, to contribute in the promotion of solidarity towards the vulnerable.
