Miss Marielle Aduhe was crowned Miss Kayanza 2022

KAYANZA January 4th (ABP) – The Scout movement via its group “Umuco”, in collaboration with the provincial administration of Kayanza (north), organized on Saturday, January 1, 2022, the final of the contest called Miss Kayanza, putting in value bodily beauty, intelligence and culture.

That competition was supported by businessmen native to Kayanza, in this case, the company Iména Soma Usubîre making liqueurs and different types of banana-based drinks, a check in Kayanza by ABP has revealed.

In its eleventh edition, the final of that provincial competition saw the participation of 10 young candidates, selected among the 14, who participated in the preselection phase on December 22.

After answering the questions asked, only in French language and the fashion shows, Miss Marielle Aduhe was crowned Miss Kayanza 2022, that is to say, a beautiful girl, intelligent and cultural.

She had put forward a project entitled “The women empowerment and innovation in technology”. She explained that this project will intervene in sensitizing girls to realize that technology and professions are not intended exclusively for men but that they also concern girls.

Opening the ceremonies of the day, the governor of Kayanza, Mr. Rémy Cishahayo, had specified that some communes did not respond properly to the Miss Kayanza competition this year.

Thus, he called on girls from different communes of Kayanza province to participate much more in that kind of competition because, he explained, it is a competition allowing girls from that province to become women leaders.

It is worthy to note that the activities relating to the election of Miss Kayanza were honored with the presence of the wife of the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Miss Burundi 2021, the Miss Globe Africa, the Miss Kayanza 2021, the heads of provincial services and communal administrators.

Note that the winner of the Miss Kayanza competition for the 11th edition, received an envelope of one million Burundi francs, while her two runners-up respectively received 500,000 BIF and 300,000 BIF.
