The Prime Minister has granted an audience to Egyptian Ambassador to Burundi and CNDS Chairperson

BUJUMBURA December 15th (ABP) – The Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Alain Guillaume Bunyoni, received in audience on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in his Office, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the chairman of the National Commission for Social Dialogue (CNDS), respectively Mr. Yassar Mahmoud Eltawi and the former president of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Sylvestre Ntibantunganya.

For the first audience, Mr. Eltawi, in an interview with the press, said that the purpose of that meeting between the two personalities was to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He further indicated that Burundian-Egyptian cooperation intervenes in the fields of agriculture (irrigation), education, health, energy but also and above all in the security field.

He added that Egypt strongly supports certain reforms undertaken by the President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, with a view to eradicating poverty.

Secondly, the Prime Minister welcomed the chair of the CNDS, Mr. Ntibantunganya, accompanied by his team. He told reporters that this was an initial contact with the prime minister, as head of government, in order to get the activities off to a good start.
