The “Bonne Action Umugiraneza” foundation has granted food aid to the DISARA center

CIBITOKE November 25th (ABP) – A delegation from the “Bonne Action Umugiraneza” foundation, led by the country’s First Lady, Mrs. Angélique Ndayishimiye, visited on Tuesday, November 23, the center called Disability Response association (DISARA) Burundi, as part of its charitable actions, through support and assistance to the vulnerable.

According to the assistant to the president of the said Foundation, Mr. Désiré Mpfubusa, the objective of that visit was to show a spirit of love and humanity to around thirty children living with various disabilities. They are fed and taken care of during the day and 41 pupils supported with school materials by the DISARA center since last September.

That delegation of the First Lady of Burundi provided assistance for this center worth five million. It consists of rice, beans, wheat flour and corn, sugar, cooking salt, oil, porridge and polichi for infants, and school materials.

The head of the delegation also pointed out that this aid comes as support to these vulnerable children, during the end of year celebrations and to allow them to savor the joy like other Burundian citizens. Another message conveyed by the speaker was to call on the neighbors of the said center and the natives to do their best for this center, which has multiple needs.

As for the chairman of the DISARA center, Mr. Siméon Habimana, he expressed his feelings of satisfaction towards the Umugiraneza good deed foundation, which offered the center food that will be used for several weeks. He indicated that this center which is the initiative of a native of Buganda, living with disability and currently residing in Australia, mainly needs a health center for multiple care; a vehicle to transport these children between the center and their homes; and a ration to feed the tenants of this center on a daily basis, and allow parents to go to work and earn a little money.

In its projects, the DISARA center plans to initiate in the near future, trades of welding, carpentry, and sewing, for adults with physical disabilities, who will create cooperatives, and thereby contribute to the development of the province. in particular and the country in general.
