GITEGA October 4th (ABP) – The Burundian senators meeting in plenary session, under the aegis of the president of the senatorial institution, Mr. Emmanuel Sinzohagera, unanimously adopted, on September 30, 2021, at the hemicycle of Gitega, the bill on the organization of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Burundi.

It was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Mr. Albert Shingiro, who presented the said bill to senators, enlightening them on certain provisions that raised questions. Speaking on the interest of that bill, Mr. Shingiro said that the diplomatic service has so far been governed by scattered and incomplete decrees, orders and memos. He regretted that this situation does not favor a clear and responsible management of the diplomatic service and the careers of personnel working in that sector.

Thus, he concluded, that bill will fill all those gaps by making certain innovations considered important for good management.
