GITEGA August 16th (ABP) – The Burundi Head of State, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, is working to the satisfaction of the people, according to the Catholic Bishop of Muyinga and President of the Council of Catholic Bishops of Burundi (CECAB), Mgr Joachim Ntahondereye, in an interview with the press on August 13, after a meeting of the Burundian number one with the Catholic bishops of Burundi, which took place at the presidential palace of Gitega, in the commune and province of Gitega , the political capital of Burundi.
“We expressed to him the satisfaction of the population vis-à-vis his speeches and actions,” Bishop Ntahondereye reported, before indicating that the government’s political line gives rise to hope.
In addition to the above, Bishop Ntahondereye said that their exchanges were focused on the contribution of the Catholic bishops in the development of Burundi.
“We expressed to him our willingness to continue in areas where we are already working,” he said, before mentioning the sectors of health and education, as well as that of community development, through cooperatives.
Bishop Ntahondereye was grateful for the Head of State’s promise to grant facilities in the execution of these interventions, promising, in turn, that the staff assigned to the activities of said sectors will spare no effort to work effectively.
