BUJUMBURA August 12th (ABP) – Mr. Gilbert Dukuzumuremyi, in charge of planning in the company “Global Business for You” located in Kigobe at the bottom of the “Emmaüs” building in the Africana House building, has recently indicated that the company helps young people to get out of unemployment, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Mr. Dukuzumuremyi said they started activities in January 2021 with the import of lamps and radios from countries like Dubai, China, South Africa for resale in Burundi. Those lights and radios can charge using solar power and operate normally.

They sell those items at a lower price than other prices in the different shops so that the young people who are doing the marketing can sell them easily. The latter receive 10% of the sale price of each item. He gave the example of a lamp that they sell for 15,000 BIF, where they therefore receive 1500 BIF and for a 60,000 BIF radio, they receive 6,000 BIF.

The company employs 30 people in marketing and has also opened a restaurant with more than 25 employees, he added.

They have created a website called GBY job.com so that people who want jobs can post their resumes (CVs) and diplomas, and companies that need employees can easily find them. He gave as an example 40 doctors who have found employment through this site. He added that the company earns 2,000 BIF for each employee donated.

The site gives opportunities to people of different degrees, mechanics, masons, carpenters, and the uneducated, including their phone number.

The company also sells envelope bags and gives the ration and transportation costs to these young people who do the marketing. She is preparing to do car cleaning and baking etc.

Mr. Dukuzumuremyi reported that they give certificates to young people who sell more items than others as well as bonuses. He revealed that they started the activities with a sum of 40 million Burundian francs and that the activities are carried out throughout the national territory.
