The President of the Republic of Burundi has received in audience the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria

BUJUMBURA July 30th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the Presidential House, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in Nigeria and the Special Envoy of the President of Nigeria to Burundi, Ambassador Zubairu Dada.

At the end of the audience, the spokesperson for the Burundi Head of State, Mrs. Evelyne Butoyi told the press that Mr. Zubairu had come to present the President of Burundi with greetings from his counterpart, the President of Nigeria.

The spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Burundi also pointed out that the two personalities exchanged views on the opportunities to explore the different sectors of intervention and cooperation including that of agriculture, education, health and others, which may be of interest to both countries for their respective peoples.

Mrs. Butoyi mentioned that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria had come to Burundi to launch a joint commission of various Nigerian and Burundian experts which began on July 28 to end on July 30, 2021 in Bujumbura in order to make the bilateral relationship between Burundi and Nigeria effective.
