MAKAMBA June 25th (ABP) – The health province of Makamba (southern Burundi) organized on Tuesday June 22 a training workshop for trainers on the “Community Dialogue” approach.

The aim of the workshop was to help trigger social and individual changes within communities in order to improve results in the fight against malaria, a check on the site by ABP revealed.

According to reports from the health province, malaria, which is the major cause of death in Burundi, remains a disease that causes many people to go to health facilities.

Everyone in different sectors must invest more in the fight against malaria, since the government of Burundi grants mosquito nets, and even simple malaria drugs.

People are thus called upon to fight against malaria, especially by using mosquito nets filled with insecticide as recommended, insisted the participants.

The leaders of each service must sensitize their subordinates on the means to fight against malaria. The people must be informed that uncomplicated malaria is treated free of charge in all public and approved health facilities.
