BUJUMBURA June 11th (ABP) – The “Nkurunziza Cup”, dedicated to the late President Pierre Nkurunziza, started on Tuesday June 8, organizers said.
Eight best teams from the 1st division of the Primus League championship are participating. On Sunday June 8, four matches were played on behalf of the first leg of the quarter-finals of “Nkurunziza Cup”.
Vital’o Fc and Flambeau du Center from Gitega drew 3-3. As for the Musongati Fc from Gitega and Kayanza United, they drew 1-1 as well as the Olympic Star from Muyinga and Messager Ngozi.
The second leg of the quarter-finals of the “Nkurunziza Cup” tournament will be played on Friday June 11 to decide between the eight teams and determine which ones will play in the next phase of the semi-finals.
