The First Lady has paid a working visit to Benin

BUJUMBURA June 10th (ABP) – The First Lady of Burundi, Mrs. Angéline Ndayishimiye, has been paying a working visit to the Republic of Benin from Wednesday June 9 until June 14, 2021 according to the press release from the Information and Communications Office to the Presidency of the Republic of Burundi.

The press release indicates that as part of the cooperation existing between the Republic of Burundi and that of Benin and in her capacity as Sponsor of the National School Feeding Program in Burundi (PNAS), Mrs. Angéline Ndayishimiye accepted the invitation of the World Food Program (WFP) in Burundi to learn about the organization, financing and operation of the National Integrated School Feeding Program of Benin (PNASI).

She will also be able to observe the impact of school feeding on improving the quality of life of children and on the development of human capital, likely to advance the 2030 agenda for sustainable development in Burundi and Africa.

During that visit, Mrs. Angéline Ndayishimiye will have the opportunity to visit the various places where PNASI is implemented, its partners and communities as well as the SONGHAI center which is developing an approach that integrates agriculture, livestock and environment.

She will also have working sessions with sector ministers who are directly involved in the implementation of PNASI and will meet with the highest authorities of Benin to better understand the mechanisms used by Benin for having invested very significantly in school feeding.
