BUJUMBURA June 8th (ABP) – The President of the Burundian Senate, Mr. Emmanuel Sinzohagera, and members of his family joined the Christians of the Pentecostal Church of Gahahe on Sunday June 6 in the Rubirizi zone, Mutimbuzi commune of the Bujumbura province (western Burundi) in Sunday prayer, a check by ABP revealed.

After the warm welcome reserved for the President of the Senate and his companions by the pastors of that church, which was embellished by songs of choristers, Mr. Sinzohagera, at the same time legal representative of the United Methodist Church, spoke as a pastor. He indicated that the first miracle that the Almighty does for man is to add a day of life to him.

“Burundi will celebrate on Tuesday June 8 the first anniversary of the passing of President Pierre Nkurunziza”, and there will be the celebration of the national day of patriotism on the same day, the Senate president said.

On that occasion, he called on the Burundians to love each other because, he said, President Nkurunziza was preaching the foundation of patriotic love.

“You cannot claim to love God whom you do not see and hate your neighbor,” Mr. Sinzohagera said, stressing that love of God begins with love for your fellow man, regardless of their origins.

In Mutimbuzi commune, there are people today who need this love, who need to be supported because of the hardships they have been plunged into following the disaster, he said.

The President of the Senate did not forget to call on Burundians in general and Christians of the Pentecostal Church of Gahahe in particular to always respect the barrier measures required to prevent themselves against Covid-19.

He thus urged people to get tested as soon as they have any sign of Covid-19 and not to wait for their health to deteriorate, especially since testing is free, he insisted. He finally promised a donation of one million Burundi francs to buy cement to complete the construction work of that temple of God.
