The Speaker of the National Assembly has received in audience the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burundi

BUJUMBURA May 27th (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly (AN) of Burundi, Mr. Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe, received in audience on Tuesday May 25, 2021, in his office, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burundi, Mrs. Zhao Jiangping.

At the end of the audience, the Chinese Ambassador to Burundi expressed her satisfaction to be received by the Speaker of the National Assembly. She said they discussed the traditional relations between the National Assembly of Burundi and the National Assembly of the People’s Republic of China.

Mrs. Jiangping said that they have reached a consensus to expand exchanges between the two legislative bodies, especially at the level of standing committees by sharing experiences, achievements, economic development, and so forth.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burundi did not forget to mention that in the framework of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, they can share experiences by channelling efforts to promote democracy through constructions.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi, in turn, praised the relations of friendship and cooperation between China and Burundi. He said that during their meeting, they took a retrospective look at bilateral relations and found that they were good in the sense that they shared a lot of things in terms of economy, politics, diplomacy, yada yada.

He said they agreed to continue to promote those relations of friendship and cooperation to make them even more dynamic.
