MWARO, June 27th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye urged Burundians on Thursday 20 June 2024 to believe in God in order to overcome despair and murmurs. He was speaking on the first day of a thanksgiving prayer organised in Nyabihanga commune, Mwaro province, to mark the 4th anniversary of his inauguration.

In his speech, President Ndayishimiye pointed out that developed countries today have experienced situations similar to the one Burundi is going through. They prayed and God answered. “Our country is very rich compared to some other countries. There’s water and fruit, Burundi is a land of milk and honey,” said Evariste Ndayishimiye.

According to President Ndayishimiye, there are clear signs that Burundi will be an emerging country by 2040. Burundi Head of State expressed his satisfaction that Burundi was able to withstand the economic sanctions imposed on it from 2015 to 2020, and invited Burundians to pray to the Almighty, because he is always with them.
