CANKUZO, June 4th (ABP) – Knowledge helps to promote the country’s socio-economic development. That was declared on Friday by the President of the Burundi Senate and legal representative of the United Methodist Church, Mr Emmanuel Sinzohagera, at the graduation ceremony for 47 leaders of that church from the provinces of Cankuzo and Ruyigi. The leaders were given courses in development. The ceremony took place in the capital of Cankuzo province, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

During the ceremonies, the president of the senate congratulated the laureates on their achievements, saying that the lessons they had just received were of great importance for the development of individuals and the community.

He invited them to use that knowledge to develop themselves and to contribute to the country’s development.

Mr Sinzohagera reminded the prize-winners that knowledge and a change of mentality are the pillars of development.

Mr Sinzohagera also focused on love, generosity, getting children into school and promoting hygiene.

Those lessons have been taught for three and a half years by the Rema Burundi association.
