Inhabitants are called upon to set up local offices

CANKUZO, May 31st (ABP) The administrator of the commune of Gisagara, in Cankuzo province, Mr. Gratien Nitunga, last week inaugurated the Gisagara village office, built by the local population, a check on the site by ABP has disclosed.

During the ceremonies, the village people expressed their gratitude for the progress made. According to them, it will now be easy to consult the village leader in a specific place and at a specific time, arguing that they used to meet him at home.

In his speech, the administrator of the commune of Gisagara, Gratien Nitunga, thanked the village people for their efforts in building the office, and urged them to maintain it well.

He also called on all parents to educate their children well and teach them to work at an early age. Recalling that the fight to achieve the vision of an emerging Burundi by 2040 concerns everyone, he called on everyone to redouble their efforts to work towards self-development.

At a time when elections are just around the corner, Mr. Gratien Nitunga called on the people to work together to avoid rumours and any other act likely to disorientate the population.

He took the opportunity to call on the people to fight against bush fires. He also urged all the villages under his jurisdiction to redouble their efforts in building their offices, so that they can all be completed by May 2025.
