BUJUMBURA March 27th (ABP) – Kira hospital in collaboration with UNIDIS HEALTHCARE and SHARMA orthopédique, organized from March 25 to 30, 2024, a knee and hip arthroplasty surgery campaign, at Kira hospital from Bujumbura.
In his speech, the general director of Kira hospital Mr. Canésius Havyarimana indicated that they organized this week dedicated to knee arthroplasty with the aim of informing the Burundian population in general and people who present the pathology in particular, that the operation which was carried out abroad will be carried out correctly in Burundi. This operation involves replacing diseased knee and hip joints with implants.
He also launched a vibrant appeal to all Burundians and more particularly those who present the pathology as well as the ministry in charge of national solidarity which spent a lot of money to help the indigent to seek treatment abroad, to consult Kira hospital on a lower cost.
As for the managing director of UNIDIS HEALTHCARE Mr. Roshan Saldanha, this program will intervene in the training of staff in terms of treatment in the operating room, in supporting staff already trained in their respective structure, to the assistance of orthopedists in the placement of implants in the operating room.
Mr. Roshan indicated that UNIDIS HEALTHCARE in collaboration with SHARMA is committed to organizing a team of experts every three to six months for the training of new staff, monitoring and support of already trained staff of all major hospitals in Burundi more particularly Kira hospital.
