Turkey’s IQRA Foundation provides food to the Islamic Community of Burundi

BUJUMBURA March 13th (ABP) – As part of Ramadan, Turkey’s IQRA Foundation granted Monday, March 11, 2024, four tons of food consisting of rice, beans, sugar, cassava flour and cottonseed oil, to the Islamic Community of Burundi (COMIBU).

That humanitarian assistance is equivalent to $50,000.

On that occasion, the Turkish Ambassador to Burundi, Mr. Alp Isikli, announced that the delegation of the IQRA foundation is making a working visit to Burundi for a week to carry out some assistance projects for vulnerable people, without no religious distinction.

He added that they will provide assistance in five different regions of the country with the aim of supporting Muslims in that holy month of Ramadhan.

For his part, the legal representative of the Islamic Community of Burundi, Sheikh Shabani Ali Jumaine thanked that timely assistance and wished them a good stay throughout the time they will spend in Burundi.
