The Umuseke association wishes to toughen the talents of the children of Gitega

GITEGA, December 27th (ABP) – On Sunday, December 24, 2023 in Gitega (center of the country), the “Umuseke” association wished a merry Christmas to the children from the different neighborhoods of Gitega commune.

Those ceremonies began with a football match between children from the Mushasha neighborhood and those from Ntobwe village. The match ended with a score of 1 goal to zero (1-0) in favor of the Ntobwe village team. Each team that participated in the tournament benefited from an envelope of 100,000 BIF for encouragement.

The representative of the “Umuseke” association, Mrs. Aline Ntahondi, strongly encouraged the children who participated in that tournament for the efforts they made. She noted that sport is a very useful tool for peacebuilding. Sport also helps children have love towards others, etc., according to Mrs. Ntahondi. The Umuseke association wishes to continue to organize that tournament in different kinds of sport (football, volleyball, basketball, etc.) in all the communes of Gitega province, so that the children of that province can celebrate together the Christmas Day.

On the administration side, the leader of the Gitega urban neighborhood, Mr. Hussein Butoyi, thanked the Umuseke association which helps in supervising young people and strengthening their talents. He encouraged the association for its objective of promoting the talents of children.

Note that those ceremonies were enhanced by young drummers from the “Abakomezakaranga” club of the Nyabututsi neighborhood.
