The Prime Minister received in audience a delegation from the Chinese province of Sichuan

BUJUMBURA December 22nd  (ABP) – Burundi Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca received, Wednesday, December 20, 2023, a delegation led by Hu Yun, vice-governor of the Chinese province of Sichuan.

At the end of the audience, Moïse Nkurunziza, spokesperson for the Prime Minister, said that that delegation made the trip to Burundi “to implement the fruitful exchanges which took place between the two Burundian heads of state and Chinese in July 2023”. It was during President Ndayishimiye’s visit to China.

The delegation of a dozen people noted that it is necessary to initiate “mutually beneficial cooperation” between Burundi and the province of Sichuan.

The areas of intervention of that cooperation which were the subject of exchanges concern economic investment, modern agriculture, infrastructure and the fight against poverty, mentioned Mr. Nkurunziza.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, for his part, reviewed the priority areas, for which the doors are open to investors in order to achieve the vision “Burundi, emerging country in 2040 and developed in 2060”

According to the spokesperson for the Prime Minister, that delegation will also meet the various technical services of the ministries, in order to conduct technical discussions and reach technical conclusions which will allow us to move on to that effective cooperation between Burundi and the province of Sichuan.
