The torch of peace has passed by Ruyigi province

RUYIGI, November 13th (ABP) – The torch of peace arrived on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Ruyigi province, from Cankuzo province. It was handed over by Governor Boniface Banyiyezako along with the national delegation and welcomed by Governor Emerencienne Tabu accompanied by the local people.

The torch of peace then went to the Mubavu zone where the Intwararumuri (torchbearers) joined the people of that locality in the construction of the protective fence for the Mubavu water supply.

The delegation accompanying the torch of peace subsequently went to Butaganzwa commune to pave the slab of the stand at the communal stadium located in Kigarika village.

For the forecasts for the day of November 11, the torch was first to be in Gisuru commune for the paving of an administrative block of the commune’s headquarters, and then in Nyabitsinda commune for the paving of a classroom at Nyagitika basic school. The passing of the peace torch in Ruyigi province was to end in Kinyinya commune with the paving of the stairs of the communal stadium.

The handover of that torch to the province of Rutana took place in the afternoon, in Bugongo village.
