Handing over of aid of more than 56 thousand pounds

CANKUZO October 31st (ABP) – The non-governmental organization, World Vision Burundi, delivered on Thursday, October 26, 2023, aid in educational materials to the Provincial Directorate of Education in Cankuzo province, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Those educational materials are made up of 56,447 books worth more than 507 million BIF and are intended for the last two cycles of the Basic School and the first years of the languages and sciences sections.

The Director in charge of advocacy, public relations and partnership within World Vision, Mr. Jean Bigirimana, indicated that that aid is part of contributing to improving the level of students, so that they have perform well on local and national tests.

He took the opportunity to call on students to raise awareness among their classmates who are dropping out of school, because, according to him, education is the pillar of development.

The director of education in the Cankuzo province, Mrs. Jeanne Hakizimana, warmly thanked that NGO for that gesture and called on the pupils to take good care of them. That NGO also provided more than 1000 desk benches and more than 500 plastic chairs and their tables, during that 2023-2024 school year.
