The First Lady has received in audience the representative of UNICEF in Burundi

BUJUMBURA, October 3rd (ABP) – The First Lady of Burundi, Angeline Ndayishimiye, received in audience on Monday October 2, 2023, in Bujumbura, Mrs. France Begin, the representative of UNICEF in Burundi. The two authorities spoke about several topics of common interest.

In an interview given to the press after the audience, the new representative of UNICEF said that it was a question of introducing herself but also of congratulating the First Lady for her actions which aim to reduce malnutrition in children and her commitment among young people and women.

To that end, Mrs. Begin indicated that she asked the First Lady for her support regarding the early childhood development strategy initiated by UNICEF. She also indicated that they discussed the 4th edition of the Forum of Women Leaders which will be held in Bujumbura from October 9 to 11, 2023, and expressed her appreciation for the work of that forum which is being carried out always with the aim of further engaging women leaders to discuss topics that are particularly important for the country, including nutrition and family planning.
