The Head of State has received five new ambassadors to Burundi

BUJUMBURA August 14th (ABP) – The President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, received, on Friday August 11, 2023, at the Ntare Rushatsi House, five new ambassadors to Burundi, who came to present their credentials to him.

These are the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Adjé Silas Metch whose head office is in Kinshasa in DR Congo, the Ambassador of Sweden, Mrs. Charlotta Macias whose head office is in Dar- Es-Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania, that of Japan, Mr. Isao Fukushima whose head office is in Kigali, Rwanda, that of Malaysia, Mr. Ruzaimi Bin Mohamed whose head office is in Nairobi, Kenya and the German Ambassador to Burundi, Mr. Carsten Hoischer.

According to the spokesperson for the President of the Republic, Mrs. Rosine Guilène Gatoni, during the respective exchanges, those personalities reiterated their firm commitment to strengthening the existing good relations between Burundi and those countries.

The five new ambassadors promised that their respective countries will support Burundi’s efforts towards development, “from an emerging country in 2040 to a developed country in 2060”, through cooperation in several sectors including agriculture, health and education.

For his part, the Burundi Head of State welcomed them while reiterating his firm commitment to strengthen the bilateral ties existing between Burundi and the five countries.
