BUJUMBURA April 12th  (ABP) – The family of the President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye joined, on Sunday April 9, 2023, the Christians of the Saint François d’Assise parish of Tenga-Kivoga in Rubirizi zone, Mutimbuzi commune , Bujumbura province (western Burundi), in the celebration of the Easter mass, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The parish priest took that opportunity to point out that this parish is young and in the process of being extended, that it needs a convent of priests and a reading center where young people will draw knowledge.

President Ndayishimiye meanwhile wished a happy Easter to all Christians.

He reported that Tenga is recovering from the aftermath of the war and compared the crossing of the war to that of the Israelis crossing the Red Sea, towards the Promised Land where, upon their arrival, they began to cultivate and breed for a living. He recalled that Tenga is very fertile and urged the people of Tenga to cultivate and raise rabbits so that every mouth has food and every pocket has money. There is a way to achieve that, assured the President of the Republic because, under the oil palm trees of Kivoga, there are ways to cultivate Pashtouli, a commercial crop that generates a lot of money. He thanked the parish of Tenga who started raising the rabbits, and asked them to supervise the surrounding people.

The President of the Republic has promised to provide that parish with a reading center for young people.

The parish of Saint Francis of Assisi took the opportunity to offer President Ndayishimiye a manual of rabbit breeding techniques.
