BUJUMBURA March 29th (ABP) – A new landslide occurred on Monday March 27 in Mukike commune, at the foot of Mount Heha blocking the Mukike-Mutambu-Kabezi road, ABP learned from a reliable source.
Large stones and earth blocked the road preventing motorbike and bicycle drivers from using this route to get to the Kavovo market in Mukike commune.
The traffic of various products commonly sold in this market is not easy, passers-by try as best they can to circumvent this obstacle, they add.
The administration and the population are working to clear the earth and the stones, but ask to be supported by a machine capable of clearing the stones as quickly as possible.
As a reminder, this landslide occurs after another which occurred in the Kibuye zone, Isare commune on Saturday, March 4, 2023 which caused the displacement of a hundred people who made up 22 households.
