The Prime Minister has received in audience a delegation of the World Bank

BUJUMBURA March 20th (ABP) – The Head of the Burundian Government, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca received, on Friday March 17, 2023, a delegation of the World Bank led by the Burundian Mr. Floribert Ngaruko, administrator of Burundi in that bank. Mr. Ngaruko newly appointed in his functions came in order to be in contact with Burundi which he represents.

According to the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Mr. Ngaruko congratulated Burundi for improving the quality of dialogue with the World Bank. Mr. Ngaruko was delighted with the laws adopted by the Cabinet to improve the partnership with the World Bank.

The two authorities had time to discuss the projects supported by the World Bank and the opportunities that the member countries of the World Bank are unaware of when they should benefit from them, the spokesperson for the Prime Minister told the press.

He also indicated that the Prime Minister was delighted with the advice provided to him by that delegation and took the opportunity to thank the World Bank for the increase in the portfolio granted to Burundi. The latter has gone from 1 billion dollars to 1 billion 300 million dollars.

Mr. Ndirakobuca asked that delegation to always plead for Burundi, and the two authorities have agreed to cooperate fully so that Burundians benefit fully from the support of the World Bank.
