Exchange of Wishes at the National Assembly

BUJUMBURA March 3rd (ABP) – The MPs and the supporting staff of the National Assembly exchanged wishes on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

In his speech, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Gélase Ndabirabe, praised the work done by the MPs and the supporting staff of the National Assembly.

They were encouraged to continue on the same path by working as a team, in synergy. Among the achievements of the National Assembly, it was mentioned the construction of the building: international conference hall “Agateka Hall”. In that regard, the MPs and the supporting staff of the National Assembly expressed their gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly, for having had the idea of the construction of that building, which was inaugurated in the morning of the same Wednesday, March 1, 2023 by the President of the Republic, during the celebration of the 14th edition of the prayer lunch. Such a celebration is organized each year by the National Assembly. The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly thus delivered a certificate of honor to the Speaker of the National Assembly, on behalf of all the MPs and the supporting staff of the National Assembly. The international conference building cost 7.2 billion Burundi francs. The sum was raised at the national level, without any foreign contribution, it was revealed.

Alongside the MPs and supporting staff of the National Assembly, members of the government, representatives of many institutions of the country, and others, were also present at those ceremonies.
