Young people are called on to develop their talents in order to self-develop and develop the country

BUJUMBURA February 12th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye in collaboration with the Youth Economic Empowerment and Employment Program (PAEEJ), held on Friday February 10, 2023 in Bujumbura, a meeting with young entrepreneurs whom he called “Inkerebutsi” (the courageous young people).

In his speech for the occasion, the Head of State invited those young people to create partnerships between them. For those who undertake without a vision, he told them that they shouldn’t work for today, rather think about the future.

President Ndayishimiye took the opportunity to advise young entrepreneurs from the “Batwa” ethnic group not to discriminate against themselves because they are like the others. He specified that he wants to modernize pottery and make it a valuable craft. He promised them an accompaniment and let it be known that each human being has talents that God has given them, reason why he calls on young people in particular, to value those talents in order to develop themselves and then develop the country.

The Head of State ended his remarks by noting that the activities of “Inkerebutsi Day” will take place every year and that it will be like a competition. “Whoever wins will be entitled to a prize”.

Note that during that meeting, 11 young entrepreneurs selected by the PAEEJ, were awarded by President Ndayishimiye.
