BURURI February 13th (ABP) – The Minister of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, Sanctus Niragira, visited Bururi province on Thursday February 9 where he met the people to collect their grievances a check in Bururi by ABP has revealed.

Minister Niragira revealed the major projects that will be implemented in the coming years to improve food security. These are the strengthening of the production of chemical fertilizers, the protection and preservation of the environment, the recruitment of technically qualified personnel, the development of research, the increase in selected seeds, the promotion of raising rabbits with at least five rabbits per household. Minister Niragira indicated that the challenges that haunt the ministry include population growth, and the cultivable lands which are no longer productive due to overexploitation. The grievances of the subordinates have mainly focused on land disputes, the repetitive shortage of chemical fertilizers, the claim of the increase in the price of coffee and tea to the farmer, the spoliation of State land by third parties, the lack of equipment at the Kajondi seed center serving a large population.
