New procedures for granting plots in certain quarters of Bujumbura City Council

BUJUMBURA February 2nd (ABAP) – The general commissionership of the Burundi Urban Planning, Housing and Construction Authority (OBUHA), issued on Monday, January 31, 2023, a press release through which it informs the public about the new procedures for granting plots in the Kizingwe-Bihara, Nyabugete V and Nkenga-Busoro quarters of the Bujumbura City Council.

According to that press release, people who had paid money and who would like to embrace the new system of social housing, are asked to go and register at the agency of that Authority, located in the Jabe neighborhood, not far from the headquarters of the former SETEMU. Those people must bring, among other things, a payment authorization, payment slip, photocopy of the national identity card, marriage certificate and a certificate of residence.

Other people who have paid the money but do not want to enter that social housing system must also go to register for the return of their money.

The Commissioner General of OBUHA indicated that the Office has not left behind other people who want to integrate the new system of social housing. He called on them to go and register at the agency mentioned above. They must bring a photocopy of the national identity card, a marriage certificate and a certificate of residence. It should be noted that registrations for all those categories of people began on Wednesday February 1 and will end on February 18, 2023. Registrations are made every day from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
