BUJUMBURA January 24th (ABP) – The First Lady of the country, Angeline Ndayishimiye, received on Monday, January 23, 2023, the parents of the child Uwatwese Elky Excellent, one and a half years old. The parents of the young boy: Mike Murwanashaka and his wife Petronie Nzeyimana were supported by the First Lady so that their child could benefit from health care abroad. Thus, Excellent Elky Uwatwese has just successfully undergone an operation in Italy, at the Center of Cardiology and Pediatrics of the Mediterranean in Sicily.
The First Lady said that the accomplishment of that charitable work is a source of pride for the country. She has thanked the representation of Italy to Burundi that followed up the process until his admission. Mrs. Ndayishimiye also expressed her gratitude to the health care center that treated the child. For the First Lady, a child belongs to everyone, everyone must feel concerned and called upon in such a situation.
The child’s mother Nzeyimana Petronie said the young Uwatwese was born with an open and swollen heart and his parents started treating him at 4 months but without success. Currently, as indicated by his mother, he is in good health and progressing well. Mrs. Nzeyimana expressed her gratitude to the First Lady for the sympathy she showed by taking the sick child under her wing.
