The Minister responsible for health has visited Muramvya to discuss the grievances from the beneficiaries of health services

MURAMVYA January 16th (ABP) – The Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Dr Sylvie Nzeyimana, in the company of key officials of his ministry, organized on Tuesday, January 10 in the Maranathan hall based in the headquarters of Muramvya province (center-west), a meeting with the different components of the people in order to discuss their grievances in accordance with the will of Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his introductory speech, the governor of Muramvya province, Diomède Nzabimana, said that peace and security are in good shape and that the health services are doing well on the field.

Health infrastructures are put in place or rehabilitated while equipment and personnel are made available. He commended the fact that communal public hospitals are found in the five communes of Muramvya province where two of them have already had the ministerial ordinance.

The governor of the Muramvya province pointed out that the province is doing everything to maintain the place of choice in the fight against Covid-19 and to enforce the barrier measures.

In her speech, the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS indicated that the objective is only to go on the field as recommended by the Burundi Head of State, to exchange with the people and, if possible, to find remedies for their grievances.

Among the grievances submitted to the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS are the lack of water and electricity at the Giko mother-health community hospital and electricity at the level of the communal hospital of Bukeye as well as the need for laboratory staff and the occasion for the official inauguration of the communal hospital of Mbuye.

The question related to the need for the access road to the Kirama health center, which is also in need of drinking water, was asked. Questions related to the complaints of users of the public service mutual fund, who are not at all satisfied with the quality of the services provided by th State employee mutual fund.

Satisfactory answers were respectively given by the minister in charge of public health, directors general and the director of the provincial health office, each in their own sphere. It is worth noting that at the end of her visit to Muramvya province, Minister Nzeyimana congratulated Muramvya province, which stands out in the field of people’s health and mobilized health officials to ensure the strengthening of good governance.
