BUJUMBURA January 13th (ABP) – The Minister of East African Community Affairs, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr. Ezéchiel Nibigira, met in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 10, 2023, with the people of Bujumbura City to discuss the issues related to culture, tradition and sport, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
Minister Nibigira called on public institutions that now Friday’s sports Day for State officials will be an opportunity for them to learn English to integrate well into the EAC, especially since all countries around the world use the English language in different activities.
Regarding culture, he thanked those who fight for the promotion of Burundian culture, adding that in public institutions, all meetings will be organized in the mother tongue to enhance it. Regarding the issue of Burundian music which seems to be neglected to the detriment of foreign music, Minister Nibigira invited Burundian artists to show solidarity and produce solid and music appreciable by Burundians.
He also announced that for the President’s Cup, the matches will start at the level of the villages up to the national level, to see and improve different talents of young Burundians.
