BUJUMBURA November 14th (ABP) – The cooperative “Turi hamwe birashoboka” located in the kamenge zone in the urban commune of Ntahangwa, prospered this year with a capital of 32,000,000 BIF following the sale of motorcycles, according to Mr. Côme Havyarimana, executive secretary during an interview granted to the ABP Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Mr. Havyarimana says he is satisfied with the step already taken in this motorcycle trade because they started this year with a capital of 10 million. However, they indicated that their earnings fell significantly following measures to limit the circulation of motorcycles, bicycles and tuk-tuks, this also caused the defection of some members of the cooperative due to discouragement.

“Those who have remained active continue to pay their monthly contribution of 20,000 BIF and we are proud to go back up again and hope to get further,” he said.

Mr. Havyarimana further said that they help each other in case of good events or in case of death, adding that they have a project to seek medical insurances for the members of the cooperative. He also reported that very soon they will start giving salaries to the members of the cooperative at the end of each month.

It is worth to note that the members of this cooperative are 49 in number and that they started activities in 2015.
