BUJUMBURA August 11th (ABP) – The Minister of Trade, Transport, Industry and Tourism Mrs. Marie Chantal Nijimbere proceeded on Monday, August 8, 2022 in Bujumbura, to the official launch of the activities of the company Van transport, a company engaged in public transport in the Bujumbura city.

In her speech for the occasion, Mrs. Nijimbere thanked on behalf of the government the company Van Transport, which responded to the state’s call to invest in the transport sector, in order to alleviate the pain of the inhabitants of the capital. forced to stand in long lines waiting for buses to return.

As far as he is concerned, she added, the State will continue to stimulate investors to invest massively in this sector, from where he encouraged Van Transport officials to invest heavily in the field of transport. in Burundi and even beyond the borders.

She also appreciated the fact that these new buses brought by the company Van Transport are compatible with new technologies, which will make travel much easier.

The mayor of the city of Bujumbura Mr. Jimmy Hatungimana called on the citizens of the political capital to take these buses with care while inviting them to show behavior worthy of city dwellers and above all to avoid not falling through the windows or tearing seat covers and curtains.

The Managing Director of the company Van Transport Mr. Alain Franck Pacini has indicated that they have responded to the State’s call to invest in public transport in the city of Bujumbura, given that today, public transport has become a headache for city dwellers. He said that for the moment 30 buses are already available and twenty others are on the way.

However, he raised the issue relating to fuel, hence he asked the state to do something towards the best solution, pointing out that these buses will need fuel on a daily basis.
